The Short Version
A global matcha shortage has made sourcing high-quality Japanese matcha a little trickier this season. This year, with surging global demand and a harvest yield nearly 30% lower than usual - due to less-than-ideal weather, we’re weathering the storm, so to speak.
The good news? Our long-term relationships with tea farmers mean we can continue sourcing from trusted partners who share our commitment to quality and sustainable growing practices. While supply has been tight, we’ve prioritized staying true to the flavor, freshness, and integrity of our matcha — even if that means waiting a little longer to restock.
We know it’s not easy to see those “sold out” signs, but we’d rather bring you matcha we’re proud of than rush something that isn’t up to Sencha Naturals standards.
What We've Been Working On
We’re working with our partner farms across Japan to increase capacity by transitioning other tea leaves to tencha leaves (they're used to make matcha). We're also bringing in a few new farms that meet our same high standards. It’s all about keeping quality high while building a more sustainable, reliable supply for the future.

Our next restock is coming late October (around the 20s), and the team’s been working non-stop to make it happen — testing, blending, and sipping (a lot of sipping).
